The MultiSport swim programme aims
to teach the fundamentals of water safety and develop the necessary
skills to swim efficiently and gracefully with confidence. Children
may progress from Parent and Baby classes through to swimming
confidently in the four principal strokes and will also have
the opportunity to advance through the Amateur
Swimming Association badge award scheme. The National (U.K)
Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) award schemes are not only
a great incentive and motivator for participants, but also provide
international assessment against clearly defined criteria.The
following class descriptions provide an indication of suitable
level although streaming of classes in line with ability and
award level shall take place. |
Lessons are available for adults upon request.
MultiSport Coaches are ASA or Aust-Swim qualified swim teachers.

Parent and Baby: (6 months
¨C 3 years) 30 mins(Max 7 students)
This course is aimed at giving your baby confidence in the water by
targeting tuition at the parent. This is done using a series of fun
related skills. Parent/Helper assistance is essential.
Tadpole: Pre-School (3-4 yrs) 30 mins(Max 6 students)
Children are taught to submerge, float and swim with assistance
and increase their water confidence to become ¡°water safe¡±. Parent/Helper
assistance is required.
Goldfish: Beginner I (5+years): 45 mins(Max 5 students)
The basics of full stroke technique will be introduced with
emphasis on front crawl and backstroke. Students must be ¡°water
safe¡± to join this class and confident in the water unaided. If
in doubt please call the MultiSport office. |

Seal: Beginner II: 45 mins(Max 6 students)
Students must be confident in swimming freestyle and backstroke
for 25 metres with correct technique. These strokes shall
further be developed along with the introduction of breaststroke.
Lessons are usually held in the DEEP END.
Swordfish: Intermediate/Advanced: 1 hour(Max 8 students)
Students must be confident to swim 50 metres in front,
back and breast stroke. These strokes shall be further developed
with an emphasis on technique to achieve a graceful and efficient
swimming style while the butterfly stroke will also be introduced.
Competition turns and dives shall also be introduced.
Private swim lessons
For more personal attention, private swimming lessons are available
for 1 or 2 students. Students should be of a similar ability.

Dolphin Swim Squad: MultiSport Dolphin¡¯s is a non profit swim club aimed at encouraging students to continue improving their swimming. To take part in Dolphins squad sessions, students must have completed our Level 12 badge award or meet minimum requirements
These sessions provide a more intense level and will be between
1000m and 3000m and last a minimum of 1 hour. We hope to develop
this into Junior squad (ages
7-11) and a Senior squad (ages 12-17) and that swimmers who makethe
qualifying times may be entered into |

team swimming competitions. We
would welcome feedback as to convenient days and times for this training
as well as possible locations.

In order to qualify for the Dolphins Swimming Team, students must have completed the following:
ASA Badge 12 (Or MultiSport assessment )
4*25 Butterfly on 1 minute
3*100 Freestyle on 2 min30 seconds
4*50 Breaststroke on 1 min30 seconds
4*50 Backstroke on 1 min30 seconds
Using the speed clock with correct starts, turns and finishes.
